Has it really been over two months since I last posted a word of the day? Wow, I sure feel like a dunderhead. I wonder where this word came from. Is there such thing as a dunder?

i take some credit for getting you to post this word of the day – i was thinking about you over the past several days, thinking how i’ve missed the word of the day and voila!! mindwaves – they’re wonderful!
i LOVE the word dunderhead, and now i’m going to say it tomorrow. it is highly underused, i say. and also likely to be the most succinct of definitions you’ve used.
ps: i also now want to call someone a dundermifflinhead….
