Garage Spider

Garage Spider

This summer has been an especially productive one for spiders in our backyard. The spider in this picture was spinning a web in our garage, between a trash can and an extension ladder hanging up on the wall.

You better make sure there are NONE of these around the next time we come for a visit! Please tell me that is a REALLY close up shot and not a huge spider! Soory, I just can’t appreciate this photo!

Hey Debbi, we’ll do our best to sweep the place clean. Yes, it was a close-up shot. 🙂

Hi Karl, all the snaps are so amazing. I was googling for Plum Tree and ran into your website and saw all the snaps..they were so compelling 🙂
The snaps of Lucy and Ben are so cute and innocent.
And talking about nature, you have captured the beauty!

  4. Karl says:

Wow, Rahul! Thank you so much for the compliments! It’s hard for me to judge my own work, and when I see other people’s photos, I usually stare at them with envy, wishing that I could capture things as well as they. So, it’s always nice to hear that someone else likes the work I’ve done. I appreciate your taking the time to post a comment here.

Looks to be an araneus diadematus (female). A very pretty, and harmless spider. Good at keeping bugs out of the yard. Very nice photo.

  8. Karl says:

Thanks for the information, Scot! Very good to know (especially, the harmless part). I’m glad you like the photo, too.

I was just googling a spider that I found making a web outside of my window and I found this picture! It has the same structure and details as mine does, only the one I found is EXACT reverse colors. Same patterns, shape, and legs and everything, just perfectly reversed colors. Wondering if its the same species, different gender? I hope it’s the same spider, because I was pretty relieved to hear that it’s harmless.
