scion

1. descendant or heir 2. a detached living portion of a plant joined to a stock in grafting

Now that I’m starting to see this little boxy car-truck thing that looks a lot like a Honda Element riding around town, I thought I should post the definition of the car’s name. Who makes the Scion anyway? Is it Toyota? In any case, I used to think that scion was pronounced “SKEE-on,” but it’s really pronounced a lot like Zion, except with a hard “s” sound instead of the “z.”
