orotund

1. Pompous and bombastic: orotund talk. 2. Full in sound; sonorous: orotund tones

I came across this word in a New Yorker article about Donald Rumsfeld and Tommy Franks, though the word was used to describe Norman Schwarzkopf: “the orotund commander of Desert Storm, whose televised briefings in early 1991 entertained journalists and the public alike.”
