It has the same structure and details as mine does, only the one I found is EXACT reverse colors. Same patterns, shape, and legs and everything, just perfectly reversed colors. Wondering if its the same species, different gender? I hope it's the same spider, because I was pretty relieved to hear that it's harmless.

I was just googling a spider that I found making a web outside of my window and I found this picture! I'm very scared of spiders. but this spider that i found seemed harmless. if i see a spider i just kill them, Because i hate spiders so much. But the photo is amazing. Nice blur perfection.

The other day i found a green spider similar to the one on the finger, I’m not quite sure if its poisonous or not. i found it in my back yard on a trash can. However, I'm always willing to learn, so it's a joy to receive a comment such as yours.Glad you like the picture.

Thanks so much for that information, Fred! Botanically, horsetails are considered one of the "fern allies" but are not related to ferns.Nice picture, by the way.

I’m probably not the first person to notice this, but your 5/8/05 fern picture actually shows horsetails (Equisetum). I also like to say that that is brave to have a spider on your finger. Did you know what it was before or after you found out what it was?

Karl,<br

The one I had found is neon green colored, had a bigger butt, and smaller than the one in the picture. I have been looking up on the internet for days trying to find it and haven't found the name of it, or if it is poison or not. I had found it in my kitchen cabinet. If anyone knows what it could be, please e-mail me at melissa.may85@yahoo.com.

But like anything, you have to take good care of them. If you want to see a mantis drink: An clean eyedropper works well. Hold the tip in front of the insects mouth and squeeze the bulb just enough for a small drop to hang on the end of the dropper. You may need to gently bump the drop against its mouth so it realizes you have water. If it is thirsty, it should start drinking from the dropper. Often they will even wrap one of their fore-legs around the end of the dropper to hold it in place. It looks like they are drinking from a bottle!

Mantids actually make good pets! But like anything, you have to take good care of them.
