Lizard in Tampa
We saw this lizard at the Lowry Zoo in Tampa last month. A zoo employee was carrying it around on the tree bark to show people as they walked through the front gates. I superimposed the sky to make it look more dramatic.
Vietnamese Opium Pipe
A good friend of mine goes to a developing country, usually Vietnam, once a year as part of Operation Smile to help repair facial deformities for children who would otherwise be ostracized from their communities. From one of these trips, she brought me an opium pipe. For decorative use only.
Fruit Still Life
This is some fruit and a little house plant that I arranged on my kitchen counter. I took the picture with a Polaroid SX-70 instant camera. Before the emulsion dried completely, I poked it and smudged it with a paper clip and the hind end of a paint brush to get the somewhat impressionistic effect. It wasn’t my original idea. A lot of people have done this kind of thing with the SX-70 before I did.
Dining Room Light
The light was streaming into the dining room, so I grabbed my Kodak digital camera and snapped a shot. Unfortunately, I had the color mode on “Saturated,” so it made the colors all blocky. Also, because of the low light, there’s quite a bit of digital noise. Still, I like the warmth of the picture, and the colors, and the light on the Sean Krueger painting looks like it has caught the birches on fire.
Demitasse
A few demitasse in the dining room. Shot taken with my Nikon N80 using Kodak T-Max P3200 film, which accounts for the grain.
