Blog Named Word of the Year
Merriam-Webster just named their 2004 word of the year, based on number of online lookups. And the winner is blog. One of my favorite words, defenestration, just squeaked in at number 10, while others on the short list related to the U.S. elections or other news events this year (incumbent, electoral, insurgent).

What’s a TrackBack, anyway?
Why in the world would so many people look up defenestration, anyway?
I would have a similar question about peloton, but I guess we can thank Lance Armstrong for the public’s curiousity about that one.
defenestration: what my sister Laura said she wanted to do (to herself) about midway through the twelfth month of her “newborn” STILL not consistently sleeping through the night.
BTW, that “baby” is 22 y/o today! Happy birthday, Brookie!
