A Walk to Work

Yesterday I took my camera along to work in the off chance that I would have time to snap some pictures of people milling around outside during lunchtime with all the booths set up for Celebration on the Grand, the last hurrah of the summer in downtown Grand Rapids.

But since the bus dropped me off a half hour before work started, I decided to slow down the usual 10-minute walk and snap a few on my way to the office. Here is what I came up with.

Sidewalk Grate Van Andel Arena Pump Test Connectors Street Lamp Falling Water Reflection Pool Concert Lights Stage Ceiling

Those were fun to see, Karl. They got me looking back to some of your earlier photos – you have some gems! Lucy in the baby carriage is too darling. And her with Grandpa in the cubbyhole looks very recent – she’s sprouting hair :-)

I just discovered another boo-boo of mine. Some time over the weekend I posted a comment on this, or at least I thought I did, and now it’s gone. Maybe I didn’t click on the “Post” button properly….
What I said was that my personal favorite was the pump test connections (what else?). Actually, I found the street light and stage ceiling shots to be particularly interesting, too.

thanks to both of you! Glad you like the pics. Yes, the one of Lucy and Grandpa is very recent — from Labor Day.
