Fun in the Snow

The kids (and Andrew) had a blast on the hill behind Andrew’s house on Boxing Day. Here are a few pictures of the fun:

Books in the Queue

What a bookish Christmas I’ve had! I received so many wonderful new books for my birthday and Christmas that I worry about how I’ll ever find the time to read them. Here they are, in no particular order, all of them linked to further descriptions on amazon.com…

You Might Say He’s a Good Steward

I was reminded of Bush’s shameless, duplicitous statement in the second presidential debate, “You might say I’m a good steward of the land,” when I read yesterday’s New York Times article about the administration’s overhaul of environmental regulations…

Christmas According to Kids

Just when the Christmas season started to feel like a burden rather than the joy that it should be, my kids came along and restored a sense of wonder in me. Here are a few highlights from this season…

The number is nowhere to be found on the customer support pages. One intrepid reporter, Timothy Noah of slate.com, managed to track it down by calling a corporate number he found on an investor relations page and asking the operator for customer service. Here’s the number he was given…

Blog the Blogging Blog, You Blogger

ewsweek has just come out with an article all about blogs and their growing influence in the world of ideas. I guess this means blogs are really, truly in the mainstream now. What’s interesting, though, is that two of my coworkers in the past week have asked me what a blog is. And I work at a hip interactive communications agency! So, when I read the article, I tried to see it through the eyes of someone like my mom, someone who isn’t exactly up on the latest tech lingo…

News Junkies Aggregate!

Every time I add an article to my website or send a cool new link to my wife, she asks me where I find the time to do all this stuff. Part of the answer, as I mentioned in a previous post, is that I stay up late at night. Too late. But the other part of the answer–the part that makes Sara’s eyes glaze over when I talk about it–has to do with the way I view the web. In short, I use a news aggregator…
